HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY: Important Housing Update: Please read - ACTION REQUIRED

Housing

Holy Family University issued the following announcement.

Thanks to all of you for understanding the changing tide of our operations as we continue to follow updated guidance from the CDC, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the City of Philadelphia’s Department of Health.

Throughout our planning for the fall, we have given extensive consideration to all aspects of University life, including housing, the overall safety of the community, and the ongoing guidance from health leaders. We’ve also taken into account the feedback we’ve received from students and parents.

As of today, based on that guidance and feedback, we are now offering campus housing in single occupancy rooms only. All room assignments which have already been given out are now void as we determine new assignments with single rooms only.

Because there will be decreased capacity, students will be given priority based on both their distance from campus and their need for on-campus housing. Once new assignments are made, they will remain in effect and may not be changed. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that original roommates will be housed in the same rooms.

Please note that we are asking residential students to complete a survey here: https://holyfamily.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eFO9G8pQ7UHWM2p regarding their preferences due to this unanticipated change. Surveys are due back by Monday, July 27th at 12 pm to be considered for this reorganized housing.

The new survey includes the following questions:

  • ·Do you still wish to live on campus or would you prefer to cancel your room and board?
  • ·How many miles do you live from campus?
  • ·Please rank your building preferences (first, second, and third choices).
  • ·Do you have an extenuating circumstance which causes you to need housing on campus?
Students who opt into campus housing will be charged the 2020-21 rates for single rooms, which vary by building and are available here for review.

Refunds will be given to those who choose not to live on campus and to those we are unable to assign a housing location due to our reduced capacity.

Meal plans will remain the same. Students who wish to change their meal plan may do so by sending an email to reslife@holyfamily.edu with their preferred choice. Changes may be made up until move-in day.

Thank you again for your understanding as we all find our way in a continuously changing environment. We are doing our very best to ensure the safety of everyone in our Holy Family community.
