Borough of Quakertown issued the following announcement Nov. 2.
The Borough of Quakertown on behalf of American Municipal Power (AMP), is now accepting nominations for two AMP Scholarships – Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship and Lyle B. Wright Scholarship. Each scholarship is in the amount of $3,000.
The Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship
This one-time scholarship award of $3,000 is presented to as many as five students annually who meet criteria including:
- Nominee must be a student whose parent or guardian (or themselves) is an employee of an AMP member municipal electric department or an employee of AMP.
- Student is a graduating high school senior with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
This one-time scholarship award of $3,000 is presented to as many as five students annually who meet criteria including:
- Nominee must reside in a household that receives electricity from an AMP member community.
- Student is a graduating high school senior with a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- A student is not eligible for the Lyle B. Wright Scholarship if they or an immediate family member or guardian is an employee of AMP or an AMP member municipal electric system.
