Deep Run Presbyterian Church issued the following announcement on Mar. 5.

Greetings in the name of Christ:

The COVID Task Force met this past week to discern the changing guidance from the CDC regarding masking and other COVID-19 mitigation measures.  The Task Force recommended that in light of the new CDC guidance, and the designation of Bucks County currently being in the “LOW” risk category, that the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run move to a “Mask Optional” policy and remove size limitations for gatherings on the church campus.  The Session met this morning for a special Called Session meeting, and they have affirmed and approved the COVID Task Force’s recommendation, effective immediately.  The Session has reserved the right to bring back a masking requirement if a new variant emerges and/or the risk level significantly increases for Bucks County according to the CDC.

What this means for our church:

  • Worshippers can now come to worship without a mask.
  • Worshippers can sing without a mask on.
  • We can begin to bring back a full choir.
  • We can have meals in Hoopes Hall without size restrictions.
We are just about two years into this pandemic.  The majority of the population is eligible for a vaccine.  If you haven’t gotten one, I encourage those who are eligible to get the vaccine as soon as possible.  If you are uncomfortable going without a mask, please feel encouraged to continue wearing one for church events.  Please do not give others a hard time if they choose to continue wearing a mask.  There may be health concerns that we are not aware of, and masking may be the only way an individual is comfortable being in public.

If you have any questions about this new policy, please feel free to reach out to me or any member of the Session.

Peace, Love and God Bless,The Rev. Dr. Kristopher D. Schondelmeyer
