What is The Authentic Meaning of Prayer?
As Catholics, we’ve all grown up with images of saints with hands folded and eyes gazing up. We’ve been encouraged to “say our prayers” before bed every night. But is Sunday Mass and a mumbled Hail Mary before we fall asleep enough? The short answer is no. Prayer is a fire, a thirst, a longing that breaks open the present moment to the inpoured Spirit of God. Come and let the Spirit “teach us how to pray” in and through the theology of the body! We invite you to please join us as Bill Donaghy from the Theology of the Body Institute speaks on the Authentic Meaning of Prayer on Tuesday, October 18th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at St. Agnes’ Social Hall. In this presentation, internationally acclaimed teacher Bill Donaghy will explore: 1. What it means to be human. 2. What it means “to pray.” 3. What is the ultimate end of prayer 4. And finally, practical steps for beginning the adventure of prayer.
