On May 14, 2024, Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) announced that two Senior Citizen Centers (SCCs) in the 145th District have been awarded grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. The Upper Bucks Senior Activity Center in Quakertown and Eastern Upper Bucks Senior Inc. in Ottsville are the recipients of these grants, each receiving $2,551.

Staats expressed his satisfaction with this development, stating, “I am thrilled to see two senior centers in my district receive this funding.” He went on to highlight the importance of these centers as pillars of the senior community in their respective locations. He added that "this grant money will help fund new programs that will be beneficial to the senior community at large in Upper Bucks.”

The grants are part of a larger $1 million appropriation for SCCs intended to fund smaller needs and improvements to programs for the beneficiaries. The General Assembly appropriates the funding for these grants through proceeds from the Pennsylvania Lottery.

Representative Craig Staats serves the 145th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. For further information, please contact Joe Szymanski at jszymanski@pahousegop.com.
