Rep. Craig Staats has announced the awarding of several grants across the 145th District by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP). The funding aims to support a range of conservation projects in the area.
Among the projects receiving funds is the installation of approximately 10 acres of riparian forest buffers along waterways in Milford Township, which received $127,400. Nockamixon Township will benefit from a $38,800 grant for acquiring about 6.6 acres along Merienstein Road for open space and passive recreation. Haycock Township is set to acquire around 9.4 acres for similar purposes with a grant of $53,700. Telford Borough will receive $202,500 for acquiring approximately 1.2 acres along East Hamlin Ave. and South Hamilton St., designated for a new borough park.
“It is always a great day in Upper Bucks County when important projects receive funding,” said Staats. “This funding will protect our waterways, save open space and create a new park for residents in Telford Borough.”
The CCPP grants are designed to fund planning, acquisition, and development efforts related to public parks, recreation areas, trails, river conservation and access, as well as conservation of open spaces. They also support partnerships that aim to enhance resource management capabilities at regional and statewide levels.
