PERKASIE BOROUGH: Borough Status Report

Perkasie Borough issued the following announcement.

Blasting at the Cedar Ridge development site has begun. Residents in close proximity have been notified. American Rock will notify neighbors before each blast. Any questions or feedback about blasting at the site should be directed to American Rock at 610-965-2444. Please watch the Borough of Perkasie Facebook page for daily information.

Perkasie’s Road Program is underway on Wyckford Drive and Wyckford Way. Weather permitting, this location will be completed this week.

The Perkasie Dog Park will close temporarily on Thursday September 17th while the Public Works Department install parking spots close to the entrance of the park. The work will add eight parking spots total, including two ADA, that lead up to the entrance gates. Weather permitting, the work will take 2 weeks. We appreciate your patience and look forward to this upgrade for Dog Park users. If you have any questions, please email: admin@PerkasieBorough.org

The PERKASIE FARMERS MARKET is OPEN on every Saturday morning from 9am-12pm on 7th St. Please be aware of the  etiquette around masking, social distancing and be ready to follow the directions of our staff and volunteers. Please click here for more information.

The Menlo Aquatic Center is CLOSED for the 2020 season.

All Perkasie Borough PLAYGROUNDS are open to the public. We strongly recommend continuing precautions around social distancing, masking and hand hygiene. Please do not visit the playgrounds if you feel ill. Cover your cough. Playgrounds are high contact structures and are not sanitized. Play at your own risk.

Park RESTROOMS are open to the public, and will be cleaned once per day, in the morning. Try to use restrooms before you visit the parks and, if you do use a public restroom, please bring and use sanitizer.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT: Trash due for collection on Monday September 7th is being picked up on Tuesday September 8th. lease have toters and bags out before 7am.

Curbside paper and cardboard collection is planned for Wednesday September 16th. Please flatten cardboard and tie in bundles. RESIDENTS of the Borough may also take materials to the Recycling Center.

Borough trash bags are available at Borough Hall, Landis, the Olde Towne Convenience Store, and Giant locations in Souderton & Perkasie. If you are elderly or immune-compromised and need a trash bag please call Borough Hall at (215) 257-5065 for assistance.

The Recycling Center is open to RESIDENTS of Perkasie Borough only. If it becomes essential for you to visit please respect the guidelines for social distancing. Stay in your car until the person in front of you is back in their car, or wear a face covering. One person at a time. Please be patient.

BULK COLLECTION: Public Works will pick up one large item each week as part of your regular trash collection service. PLEASE EMAIL PUBLICWORKS@PERKASIEBOROUGH.ORG IF YOU HAVE AN APPLIANCE THAT NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP. Note, we will not collect TVs, computer monitors or items containing Freon.

Curbside BRUSH CHIPPING is planned for Wednesday October 7th. Cut branches to less than 6′ and bundle with twine in bundles no larger than 18″ in diameter. Call for an appointment by close of day on Monday October 5th.

Annual TRASH BILLS were due on June 19th. The annual trash fee of $50 is payable by each residence in addition to the pay-as-you-go trash bag fees or the toter fees. Please call Borough Hall with any questions.

ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT:

NEW ACCOUNTS: application forms for new electric and trash accounts may be printed from our website. Please scan the completed form and email it to jheft@perkasieborough.org. PARKS AND RECREATION:

Perkasie’s annual Fall Festival is, regretfully, canceled for 2020. Please visit www.perkasieborough.org/scarecrow-display for a fun, outdoor activity that will brighten up the town for Fall, and provides an opportunity to “win” a $500 donation for your favorite local non-profit organization.

We are accepting park and pavilion reservations for groups of under 250 people.  Please email our Park and Recreation Department at parkandrec@perkasieborough.org with your request.

BUILDING, ZONING, LAND DEVELOPMENT PERMITS: We are accepting Building Permit, Zoning Permit and Land Development applications. Please call Borough Hall at (215) 257-5065 if you wish to submit an application form then scan the completed form and email it to dsergeant@perkasieborough.org. Click here to find the Building Permit and other application forms. Non-emergency land development, building permit and zoning applications are being accepted but may be subject to delay.

SOLICITATION PERMITS: We are not accepting Solicitation Permit applications at this time.
