BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Bucks Graduates 1st Cohort from Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Certification Program

Grad

Bucks County Community College issued the following announcement.

The 13 students are poised to be hired with new Bookkeeping, QuickBooks, Excel and Accounting Skills; Info sessions are scheduled Jan. 5 and 12 for the next 7-week class starting Feb. 8

Bucks County Community College, whose Center for Workforce Development supports the economic development of both individuals and businesses in the region, recognized 13 students who completed the inaugural cohort for the Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Certification training program.

The training was funded as part of a $420,000 CARES Act grant that the center received from the County of Bucks to address the displacement of county residents as a result of COVID-19.

All students were able to attend the training for free due to grant funding, enabling them to explore new career pathways and industries while having the opportunity to upskill their already existing skillset.

The online, seven-week Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Certification program provided intensive training designed to help students gain the skills needed for entry-level jobs in administrative, office manager and bookkeeping positions. Students also gained crucial employability skills such as resume writing, interviewing training and networking opportunities. The training was fully remote, so the students also increased their digital literacy and gained experience in working from home.

Bucks will begin a new cohort on February 8. Online information sessions will be held on January 5 and January 12 at 1 p.m. To register for an information session, or to learn more about other career trainings offered through the Center for Workforce Development, visit www.bucks.edu/wfd or contact Julie Rita-Di Pietro at Julie.rita-dipietro@bucks.edu.
